The HD-DVD drive has a standard USB 2.0 connection, so I imagine it will work with your PC. I'm planning on getting the drive because it'll probably be the cheapest, and I can use it for my TV and (hopefully) on my PC.

I find it interesting with every generation to see what game companies keep exclusive as far as hardware and software goes and what they do not. While it may make more money for the company, Microsoft charging so much for the memory cards and other peripherals might look bad to the consumer. Personally, I don't think an HD-DVD add-on will fly much at all (I'd rather buy the Drive for a computer than exclusively for my Xbox. Or why not just buy a player, albeit more expensive).

That example hasn't really happened in this last round but my mind goes immediately to PSP homebrew. Sony has tried to keep an iron fist on applications for the PSP, always pushing their own content. Meanwhile, underground developers have made add-ons that surpass I think even Sony's initial expectations for the PSP as a portable media player. One sometimes wishes they would just embrace what's out there for the consumer's sake.

But nothing seems to change unless the consumer gets really mad or the company stops making money doing the same old thing.

P.S Anyway you could make the comment box bigger length-wise, it would help me with my double checking what I wrote. : )
